Commission charges for work booked through Capital Casting Ottawa, when the performer is being paid directly, example background performance, and other onset roles. are as follows: Commissions are calculated based on gross earnings, gross labor, or gross fees (terms may vary per production) and are subject to 13% HST. Additionally, commissions are applied to travel time, mileage, wardrobe, vehicle rentals, and other related expenses.
For Full ACTRA Members, Apprentice ACTRA Members, AABP Members, and NON UNION Performers, the commission rate is 10% of the gross fee paid by the production, plus HST. For Commercial Work, SSE, Upgrades (working outside of your category including being upgraded to ACTRA pay when Non Union), Modeling, and Yellow Vouchered work, the commission rate is 15% of the gross fee paid by the production, plus HST.
All commissions are to be paid via e-transfer to: CapitalCastingOttawa@gmail.com and are due within 7 days of receiving your payment from the production. If you require additional time for payment, please communicate with us to arrange an agreement. Please note that interest will be charged on any outstanding commission that is more than 30 days old.
Capital Casting Ottawa Booking Policy
By accepting a booking through Capital Casting Ottawa, you agree to the following:
Capital Casting Ottawa's standard agency commission is payable on all work booked through this production.
New performers who are booked for the first time will be required to pay a $20 commission deposit to confirm their booking.
Your $20 deposit is not an additional fee—it will be deducted from the commission owed after you have successfully completed the work.
If you accept a booking and cancel within 24 hours of your scheduled call time, your $20 deposit will be forfeited.
If you accept a booking and do not report for work (no-show), your $20 deposit will also be forfeited.
This policy helps ensure dependable performers for our casting clients and allows us to continue providing opportunities to reliable background performers.
Performers who cancel their availability within 48 hours of production will be subject to a fee of $20.00 via e-transfer before being considered for future work. Performers with outstanding commission owed will not be submitted for castings until all commissions have been paid in full.
